Solano EyeCare is dedicated in providing a SAFE experience for everyone.

Entry by Appointment Only:

  • Check in for appointments by phone and pass screening for COVID-19
  • Patients only allowed to enter (unless they are a minor or need a caretaker)
  • Temperature will be taken of anyone entering
  • Patient must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer upon entrance
  • Face coverings are required at all times inside the building. Face coverings must be covering nose and mouth, without holes (respirators), and form-fitting. 

Sanitation:

  • Patient contact areas shall be disinfected before and after each patient encounter
  • Common areas will be disinfected hourly
  • Soap and water are available at the sinks in the bathroom and pretest area
  • Hand Sanitizers are located at the front desk, dispensing tables, and in each exam room

Prevention of unnecessary contact:
             Optical:

  • Direct ship Contact lenses
  • Opticians to handle frame boards only
  • Disinfection of all frames handled or tried on
  • Patient consultations behind sneeze guard

             Exam Room:

  • Limited conversation with doctor
  • Handouts for conditions found if further clarification needed
             Front Office:
  • Check in/check out behind sneeze guard
  • Credit card numbers entered by staff


Meet the Optometrists

  • Dr. P. Harold Woodring

    Dr. Woodring received his optometry doctorate at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. He has been in private practice for over 35 years. A member of the American Optometric Association and the UCB Optometry Alumni Association, Dr. Woodring also dedicated years teaching at the Berkeley School of Optometry.

  • Dr. Ruth J. Chen

    Dr. Chen received her optometry doctorate at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. She has been in private practice for over 15 years. Dr. Chen is a member of the American Optometric Association and served on the board for the UC Berkeley Optometry Alumni Association.  Having 2 boys of her own, she is passionate about children's vision and eye health.  

  • Dr. Charlie Ngo

    Dr. Ngo received his optometry doctorate at UC Berkeley and has post-graduate residency training in ocular disease from the Baltimore VA.  Dr. Ngo is a member of the UC Berkeley School of Optometry faculty and conducts research in amblyopia.  He is also a member of the American Optometric Association.
